Food consumed: half pbj sandwich, 1 brownie, 1 cookie, 1 power bar, 2 bottles of gatorade. After the ride I had 2 slices of spinach pizza, a coke, and some grapes. At home I had a glass of Endurox.
Calories burned: 3060
I thought about doing the hundred but cooler heads prevailed. I felt strong at the end of 70 though. Anyway 70 is enough. The food was great and the new route home from Betzwood was a high point. I found a fast group to ride to Evansburg with and we averaged about 18. I recognized the lawyer with the Giant, Scott, Mike, and the fast guy from Iran. At the Evansburg rest stop, after going to the bathroom, refilling water bottles, and eating some good stuff, I looked around and didn't see anyone I rode ready to leave yet. I filled up my tires with air and waited. Still no one. Maybe they left already. Oh well. I left the rest stop thinking I might run into people but I rode pretty much alone from Evansburg to Betzwood, which isn't really what you want on these group rides. At Betzwood I saw a few guys leaving so I left with them. After a few miles we caught up with another group and there were about 10 or 15 of us. That made it easier. The route from Betwood home was definitely better than the bike path. Thanks BCP organizers!
